You don't pick a fighter. You get dug up as one.

STRATA is a local, browser-based fighting game where a webcam photo of your face is excavated out of the rock, inked into a fossil portrait, and bolted to the chest of a stone-and-bone golem. Then you watch yourself fight.

Snap a photo (or upload one, or fight as the ammonite), brush the sediment off your own fossil with the mouse, mount it on one of six bodies, and swing. Every KO shatters the loser into a pile of bones and the medallion lands face-up in the dirt.

Four ways to play

• VERSUS — two players on one keyboard, or plug in two gamepads.
• STORY — a motion-comic gauntlet that explains why the dead fight, ends on a twist, and lets you choose one of two endings.
• MARROW PIT — endless solo descent. One round per floor, hungrier forever. Queen Marrow checks in every fifth floor. Your depth goes on the FOSSIL RECORD.
• CATACOMBS — a walkable three-floor krypt where BONE SHARDS buy golem tints, buried lore, a gambling table, and unlocks.

Six real archetypes

Rushdown Brawler, grappler Titan, footsies Trickster, counter Warden, zoner Reaper, assassin Ash — each with different health, range, and gameplan, a super with a cut-in, and an AWAKENING: burn a full bar and the fossil cracks open so you fight as the actual animal it came from. Raptor, mammoth, archaeopteryx, ankylosaur, pterosaur, smilodon. Quadrupeds drop to four legs. Fliers take wing.

Grabs beat block. Dashes close space. EX specials spend meter now; the super banks it.

Your face never leaves your machine

Photos are captured, processed, and displayed entirely in your browser's memory. Nothing is uploaded, transmitted, or written to disk — no server, no localStorage, no cookies. Close the tab and it's gone. That's not a policy, it's the architecture: the game makes zero network requests while you play.
